Do I need to fast for this test?
Yes, for a reliable cholesterol and triglyceride profile we advise fasting for 8 hours.
What does the difference between LDL and HDL tell me?
LDL ("bad") is linked to higher vascular risk, HDL ("good") to protection. The ratio between them says more than either value alone.
What can I do myself about raised cholesterol?
A diet lower in saturated fat and higher in fibre, enough exercise and a healthy weight often lower cholesterol. Our doctor interprets your result in context.
How quickly do I get my results?

Is this test suitable if there is raised risk in my family?
