Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026 · Bloodworks, Amsterdam · Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 96134070
Article 1, Definitions
- Bloodworks: Bloodworks, based in Amsterdam, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 96134070.
- Customer: the natural person who places an order via the Bloodworks website.
- Service: the provision of blood testing, including blood draw, laboratory analysis and a doctor-interpreted report.
- Agreement: the distance contract concluded upon confirmation of an order.
Article 2, Applicability
These terms and conditions apply to all offers, orders and agreements made via the Bloodworks website. By placing an order you agree to these terms.
Deviations from these terms are only valid if agreed in writing.
Article 3, Offers and conclusion of the agreement
All offers on the website are without obligation. Bloodworks reserves the right to refuse an order or to request additional information.
You can place an order yourself from the age of 18. Would you like a blood test for someone younger? Please contact us in advance. We will then look at the options with you and whether additional guidance is needed.
The agreement is concluded at the moment Bloodworks confirms your order in writing (by email). You receive a confirmation email with the order details immediately after ordering.
Article 4, Prices and payment
All prices stated on the website are in euros and include VAT (0% for medical services). The blood-draw and collection costs described below are added to the price of a test, package or individual marker, unless it is expressly stated with that test that those costs are already included in the price shown. The amount you actually pay is always itemised in your basket and on the payment page.
Blood-draw and collection costs
For the blood draw, Bloodworks charges a one-off €29 in blood-draw and collection costs. This amount applies per order and not per test or per marker: if you order several packages or markers at the same time, you pay the €29 once.
If the total of your order is €225 or more, this amount is waived and you pay no blood-draw and collection costs. For reaching that threshold, the stated prices of the tests in your order count, so before any combination discount is deducted and before a discount code or voucher is applied. Follow-up measurements do not count towards the threshold and are themselves exempt from blood-draw and collection costs.
In practice this means: our large value packages are priced above €225 and therefore always include the blood-draw and collection costs. For smaller packages and for individual markers the €29 is added, unless your order as a whole reaches the €225 threshold.
Combination discount
If you order two or more packages in a single order, Bloodworks automatically deducts a 10% combination discount from the subtotal of those packages. The discount does not apply to individual markers or to the blood-draw and collection costs.
Payment is made via the payment methods offered by Bloodworks (iDEAL, credit card and Klarna). Your order is only processed after payment has been received.
Bloodworks reserves the right to change prices, discounts and the amounts stated above. The prices and conditions applicable at the time of ordering are binding.
Article 5, Blood draw
After payment you receive a lab form with which you can visit one of the more than 1000 affiliated blood-draw locations throughout the Netherlands.
The lab form is valid for the period stated on the form (usually 3 months). Blood draw is subject to presentation of valid proof of identity.
Bloodworks is not liable for delays or problems at the blood-draw location that are beyond the control of Bloodworks.
Article 6, Results and report
Results are made available within a few business days after the blood draw via the customer portal and by email. This period is indicative and may vary depending on the chosen package and the laboratory workload.
The report contains a doctor's interpretation of the results. This report does not replace a medical consultation and is not intended as a diagnosis. In the event of abnormal values we advise you to contact your general practitioner.
Reference values in the report are provided by the performing laboratory. Bloodworks does not change these.
Article 7, Cancellation and refunds
As a consumer you have, in principle, a 14-day cooling-off period. Because we often process your request immediately, you agree to immediate performance when placing your order. As a result, your right of withdrawal may lapse in whole or in part once we have started providing the service.
Cancelling within 24 hours
If you cancel within 24 hours of your order and the laboratory request form has not yet been processed or sent, you receive a full refund of the purchase amount.
Cancelling before the blood draw
If you cancel after that, but before the blood draw, work has already been carried out, such as the medical review and processing of your request. In that case we charge €25 in administration and processing costs. The remaining amount is refunded via the original payment method.
After the blood draw or the cooling-off period
After the blood draw, or after the statutory cooling-off period has expired, a refund is in principle no longer possible.
Can the test not be carried out?
If Bloodworks or the laboratory cannot carry out the test and there is no suitable alternative, you receive a full refund or a free new request.
Would you like to cancel your order? Please contact us via support@bloodworks.nl and include your order or reference number. Any refund is processed within 14 days via the original payment method.
Article 8, Liability
Bloodworks is not liable for damage arising from the use of the information provided for self-diagnosis or self-medication. The reports provided are for information and do not replace a medical consultation.
In all cases, the liability of Bloodworks is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant order.
Article 9, Privacy
Bloodworks processes your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). See our privacy policy for more information.
Article 10, Complaints
You can report complaints about the service via support@bloodworks.nl or by phone on +31 20 308 6923. We respond within 5 business days.
Bloodworks is affiliated with a recognised disputes committee. If we cannot resolve the matter together, you can submit your complaint to the Disputes Committee (Geschillencommissie).
Article 11, Applicable law
Dutch law applies to all agreements. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the district of Amsterdam.
